The Current Leaders in the Crucial 2024 Election Battlegrounds

The highly anticipated swing state race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is currently too close to call, according to new polls released this week. In Michigan, Arizona, and Nevada, the candidates are neck and neck, with only one-point differences, all falling within the margins of error.

In Nevada, Harris holds a slight lead in some polls, while Trump is ahead in others, making the race too close to call. In Arizona, they are trading leads in different polls, with both candidates having a slight advantage. Michigan also shows a close race, with polls showing both candidates with a narrow lead.

In Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, the race is similarly tight, with Trump holding slight leads in some polls, while Harris is ahead in others, all within the margins of error.

Nationally, Trump leads Harris by a small margin in the RealClearPolitics polling average, while Harris is ahead in the FiveThirtyEight average.

Harris became the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race in July, dramatically shifting the Democrats’ fortunes. Prior to this, polls consistently showed Trump would beat Biden in most battleground states, despite Biden winning six out of seven in the 2020 election.

As the race heats up, both candidates are focusing on key swing states in an attempt to secure the presidency in 2024.
