Top 10 Celebrities Including Sydney Sweeney and Scarlett Johansson Targeted in Online Scams – Hollywood Reporter

According to a recent report by Hollywood Reporter, a study conducted by cybersecurity firm McAfee has revealed that Sydney Sweeney and Scarlett Johansson are among the top 10 celebrities most commonly used in online scams. The study examined the risks of searching for celebrity names online and found that cybercriminals often use the images and names of popular celebrities to lure unsuspecting victims into clicking on malicious links or providing personal information.

The study found that cybercriminals use celebrities’ names and images to attract internet users who are looking for information, photos, or videos of these celebrities. Once users click on these fraudulent links, they may unknowingly download malware onto their devices, which can be used to steal personal information or hold their devices ransom.

Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in popular TV shows like “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” ranked third on the list of celebrities most commonly used in online scams. Scarlett Johansson, a highly acclaimed actress known for her roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other blockbuster films, ranked eighth on the list.

The study also revealed that other popular celebrities like Tyler Perry, Mark Ruffalo, and Megan Fox were also frequently used in online scams. McAfee advised internet users to be cautious when searching for information about celebrities online and to avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading content from untrustworthy sources.

This report highlights the importance of staying vigilant while browsing the internet and being aware of the risks associated with online scams. By avoiding clicking on unfamiliar links and taking precautions to protect personal information, internet users can reduce their risk of falling victim to cybercriminals who exploit the popularity of celebrities for malicious purposes.
