NASA is currently finalizing a decision on how to bring home two astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been stranded at the International Space Station for over two months. The astronauts were originally supposed to return after just over a week but encountered issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft during their journey to the space station. NASA engineers are currently analyzing data from tests to determine the best course of action for the astronauts’ return. They are considering whether to use the troubled Starliner spacecraft or SpaceX’s Dragon capsules for the return mission. NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate is expected to complete their analysis next week, followed by a formal review at the end of the week or the beginning of the following week. The final decision on when and how to bring the astronauts back is anticipated by the end of this month.
