Georgia State Men’s Basketball Welcomes Jeff Dunlap and Stevie Taylor to Coaching Staff

ATLANTA — Georgia State University’s men’s basketball program has made significant strides by welcoming Jeff Dunlap and Stevie Taylor to its coaching staff, as announced by head coach Jonas Hayes on Tuesday.

Hayes expressed his enthusiasm for the new additions, stating, “I believe they are the perfect fits for our program and are exactly what we need moving forward."

Jeff Dunlap joins the Panthers as an assistant coach, bringing a wealth of experience from various levels of collegiate basketball. His most recent role was at California State University, Northridge, where he contributed to 37 wins and a notable second-place finish in the Big West Conference. Dunlap’s coaching career spans multiple institutions, including NC State, Alabama, and Georgia, where he was instrumental in several NCAA Tournament appearances, including two Sweet Sixteen runs.

"Coach Dunlap brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our program, especially in recruiting and player development," said Hayes.

On the other hand, Stevie Taylor comes to Georgia State following a successful period at Iowa State, where he played a pivotal role in leading the Cyclones to a Big 12 Championship and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Taylor’s impressive resume includes stints as director of operations at Toledo and as an assistant coach at Nicholls, contributing to championship victories at both institutions.

Hayes praised Taylor’s positive energy and magnetic personality, stating, "Our guys are going to be drawn to him."

With these strategic hires, the Georgia State men’s basketball program is poised to elevate its competitive edge as it gears up for the upcoming season under Coach Hayes’ leadership.
