In Colorado, an estimated 114 undocumented immigrants were detained during a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) raid on an alleged underground nightclub. The operation, which took place Saturday night into Sunday morning, followed a months-long investigation into the Colorado Springs venue. DEA Special Agent Jonathan Pullen indicated that the club was a site for drug trafficking, prostitution, and violent crimes, with various drugs—including cocaine—discovered on the premises. Many of the detained individuals were found to have active state warrants, though only two arrests were reported based on these warrants.
The raid revealed firearms and involved the participation of more than a dozen active-duty service members, some acting as security, while others were patrons. The operation drew attention from various law enforcement agencies, including the Army Criminal Investigation Division. President Donald Trump commented on the raid, sharing footage and alleging that some detainees were violent criminals, such as murderers, though the DEA has not substantiated these claims. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi further stated that members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang and the MS-13 gang were involved.
While such large-scale roundups concern immigration advocates and civil liberties lawyers, the Colorado Rapid Response Network urged detainees’ families to remind them of their rights. A detained individual, Jose Dominguez, shared that he was handcuffed briefly until his legal status was confirmed before being released.
