Georgia State Advances to Sun Belt Championship Finals with Dominant Victory
Foley, Ala. – The Georgia State Sandy Panthers, seeded No. 2, secured a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Finals with an impressive 4-1 win over top-seeded Coastal Carolina. The championship match is set for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. ET, where Georgia State will face the winner of the Southern Miss/UNCW match against Coastal Carolina, following the tournament’s double-elimination structure.
In the semifinal, Georgia State demonstrated dominance across several courts. Victories were clinched by the pairs of Ayla Johnson and Aree Keller (court 1), Aliisa Vuorinen and Ella Mozeleski (court 3), Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson (court 4), and Kaebre Sullivan and Kealy Dirner (court 5). Notably, Johnson/Keller, Jefferson/Singleton, and Sullivan/Dirner remain undefeated in the 2025 conference tournament.
Danica Singleton has been a standout performer, achieving 23 wins this season, which ties her for the fourth most victories by a freshman in program history. The Sandy Panthers, with an unblemished 11-0 record in all-time Sun Belt Championship duals, are aiming for a third consecutive title. This comes after a rebound from their recent setback to the Chanticleers at the Palmetto Invitational, marking their first conference loss.
