Passengers forced to evacuate on Orlando runway following engine fire | Lifestyle

The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating an engine fire that occurred on a Delta Air Lines flight at Orlando International Airport this morning. The Airbus A330 plane, carrying 200 passengers, was bound for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport when the fire broke out in one of the engines. Passengers were evacuated down emergency slides onto the tarmac following the incident.

Delta Air Lines stated that their flight crews followed procedures to evacuate the cabin once they observed flames in the tailpipe of the engine. The airline has apologized to customers for the experience and reassured that safety is their top priority. Passengers will be flown to their final destinations on other aircraft while maintenance teams inspect the plane that was involved in the fire.
