Georgia State University’s Media Information and Policies

Georgia State Athletics has released a new media credential policy outlining the criteria for obtaining credentials to cover their events. The policy requires applicants to represent a recognized professional news organization that regularly covers collegiate athletics, particularly Georgia State Athletics.

However, media credentials will not be issued to entities primarily focused on recruiting coverage, professional scouting, or sports betting, or outlets that do not employ trained journalists. Freelancers not on assignment for a verified outlet or individuals under the age of 18 are also ineligible for credentials.

The policy emphasizes that credentials are a professional courtesy and are non-transferable. Access to working areas is restricted to credentialed media actively performing a professional duty, and unauthorized use may result in immediate revocation.

Media members must adhere to Georgia State’s guidelines, such as picking up credentials two hours before kickoff, displaying them at all times, and following strict access rules while at Center Parc Credit Union Stadium. Media must also abide by NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and Georgia State University regulations.

These guidelines aim to ensure that only qualified media personnel are granted access to Georgia State Athletics events and that they conduct themselves professionally while covering the games. Failure to comply with the policies may result in removal from the venue and denial of future access.
