Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy, 24, died in an apparent suicide while being pursued by authorities in Houston. Last December, he was involved in a fatal car accident in Louisiana that clouded his NFL prospects. After crashing his car during the pursuit, Lacy was found dead at the scene. LSU expressed sadness over his passing, sending condolences to his family, loved ones, former teammates, and coaches. Lacy’s draft stock had plummeted due to his alleged reckless driving that resulted in a fatal accident in Lafourche Parish. He was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle. Despite his involvement in the accident, Lacy led LSU in touchdowns receiving last season and had declared for the NFL draft, but did not play in LSU’s bowl game. The State Police report stated that Lacy fled the scene without calling for help after the accident. Lacy’s passing has left his family, friends, and those who knew him impacted by his actions mourning his loss.
