Georgia State falls to Georgia Tech 2-4

In a close match-up between Georgia State and Georgia Tech, the Panthers fell 2-4 on Tuesday night at Russ Chandler Stadium. Despite a strong effort, Georgia State’s offense was held to just three hits. They managed to tie the game at 2-2 with runs in the fifth and sixth innings, but Georgia Tech pulled ahead in the seventh with a two-run inning. A two-run home run from Drew Burress gave Georgia Tech an early lead, which they maintained to secure the win.

Pitchers for Georgia State limited Georgia Tech to just 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Yellow Jackets’ offense. Starter Jake Hembree and reliever Jacob Crews put up a solid effort on the mound, but ultimately could not hold off Georgia Tech’s late-game push.

Despite the loss, the Panthers demonstrated resilience and an ability to capitalize on opportunities. They drew six walks from Georgia Tech pitching and fought until the end. Looking ahead, Georgia State will face off against South Carolina on March 12th at 6:30 PM in hopes of bouncing back from this tough loss. With a record of 12-5, the Panthers will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
