Panthers’ Tennis Teams Excel Academically


Georgia State University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams are setting the academic bar high, with the athletics department as a whole boasting an impressive 3.27 GPA for the fall 2024 term. A total of 273 student athletes earned academic honors during this period, with the women’s tennis team leading the way with a team GPA of 3.91, followed closely by the men’s tennis team at 3.82. Additionally, beach volleyball also made a strong showing with a GPA of 3.85.

Among the individual student-athletes, Therese Brink from women’s soccer and Francesca Miglio from women’s tennis stood out with outstanding GPAs of 4.30. The program saw notable strides in other teams like women’s basketball, men’s basketball, and baseball, with substantial GPA increases compared to previous terms.

Overall, 57 student athletes earned President’s List honors, 117 made the Dean’s List, and 99 were recognized on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. The commitment of both student-athletes and coaching staff to academic achievement is apparent, demonstrating that success in Georgia State University athletics is not just about on-field performance but also about academic excellence and holistic success.
