Augusta Jaguars Volleyball Team Advances to NCAA Semifinals

WINGATE, NC – In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Augusta University volleyball team secured a spot in the NCAA Southeast Regional Semifinals after defeating Lenoir-Rhyne University 3-0 on Friday at Cuddy Arena on the Wingate University campus. With this victory, Augusta improves its record to 21-7, showcasing impressive set scores of 25-11, 25-18, and 25-14.

The Jaguars, coming in as the No. 4 seed, dominated the first set with a striking .400 hitting percentage while limiting Lenoir-Rhyne to a mere .036. A pivotal moment was marked by an ace from Marrah Zenner, propelling Augusta into a 10-4 lead and securing a comfortable first-set win.

The second set began more competitively but the Jaguars’ strong defensive strategies held the Bears to a .179 hitting percentage, paving the way for their continued success. Augusta’s defensive prowess shined through as they restricted Lenoir-Rhyne to just .100 in the third set.

Key players for Augusta included Sophia Kruczko and Madelyn Eden, each contributing nine kills and leading the Jaguars with strong hitting percentages of .692 and .381, respectively. Rylie Harris and Marah Zenner also excelled, recording 18 digs and six service aces, along with significant contributions from Janvier Buggs in assists and digs.

With a team hitting percentage of .383 and a remarkable 11 service aces, Augusta demonstrated offensive strength and defensive tenacity throughout the match.
