Georgia State’s women’s soccer team is gearing up for conference play after a tough start to the season against non-conference opponents. The Panthers, with a record of 1-5-2, will face Marshall on Sunday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the GSU Soccer Complex. The team holds a 2-0-0 record against Marshall, having defeated them 4-1 on the road in October 2023.
Despite their slow start, Georgia State is looking to make a mark in the Sun Belt conference, currently ranking thirteenth. Goalkeeper Jaddah Foos is closing in on the school record of 22 shutouts, while Callee Maughon is on track to break the appearances and starts records. Sophomore Aaliyah Faddoul, the reigning Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, has already scored three goals this season and was named Preseason Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year.
Sophomore Taylor Vance also made her mark by scoring her first two career goals in recent games. With key players stepping up and the team showing determination to improve, Georgia State is eager to make a strong impression in conference play.
