Georgia State University had a successful year in academics as 218 student-athletes earned Sun Belt Conference academic honors for the 2023-24 academic year. The institution finished with a 3.39 GPA, the second-highest in the conference. Women’s tennis led with a 3.82 team GPA, while men’s tennis followed closely with a 3.72 team GPA. Additionally, nine graduate Panthers received the IA FAR Academic Award for their outstanding achievement.
Among the recipients was Erica Hambacker, who achieved the highest undergraduate GPA of 4.0. Senior Associate A.D. of Academics Brad Horton commended the student-athletes, coaches, and staff for their dedication to academic excellence, reflecting Georgia State’s commitment to student success. The university’s commitment to academic achievement is evident in these accomplishments.
The student-athletes were recognized in various categories, including the Commissioner’s List for those with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, the Academic Honor Roll for those with a GPA of 3.0-3.49, and the IA FAR Academic Award for graduate student-athletes. This recognition highlights the dedication of Georgia State’s student-athletes to their studies while competing in their respective sports.
