There is no automatic recount provision in Georgia, but a losing candidate can request one if the margin is less than 0.5%.
In the 2022 U.S. Senate race, Raphael Warnock initially led with Democratic votes, but the margin narrowed significantly over time. The state Election Board’s new rule about paper ballot counting was blocked by a court in October. Georgia is expected to play a crucial role in the 2024 presidential election.
