Georgia State Women’s Basketball Falls to Alabama Crimson Tide
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Georgia State women’s basketball team faced a tough challenge on the road, suffering a 98-49 defeat against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Monday. Despite a strong effort from the bench, the Panthers were unable to keep pace with the powerful Alabama squad.
Leading the Panthers (5-4) was Mahogany Matthews, who contributed five points and four steals. Mikyla Tolivert added ten points, while Mya Williams chipped in with eight points and two steals. The bench was particularly active, accounting for 25 of the team’s points.

Georgia State managed a brief comeback with a 7-0 run, but Alabama responded effectively and ended the third quarter at 77-37. In the final quarter, Georgia State managed to score some points in the paint but was ultimately outmatched, concluding the game at 98-49.
This loss highlights areas for improvement as the Panthers prepare for their next matchup. They will return to the court on December 8 against Sewanee at 2:00 PM at the GSU Convocation Center, seeking to bounce back from this defeat.
