NC State football is gearing up to face off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a Thursday night primetime game after their second bye week of the season. The last time these two teams met was in 2020 when NC State defeated Georgia Tech by a score of 23-13. Both teams are in need of a win to secure their bowl eligibility.
NC State, currently 5-5, is looking to secure its fifth straight bowl appearance. On the other hand, Georgia Tech has shown strength at home, particularly in their recent upset win over then-No. 4 Miami. Led by injured star quarterback Haynes King, the Yellow Jackets are looking strong with a 6-2 record during his starts.
NC State will have to rely on freshman quarterback CJ Bailey to lead their offense against the tough Yellow Jackets defense, allowing an average of 226.5 passing yards per game. The Wolfpack will also need to improve their rushing game after only managing 84 yards in their last game against Duke.
Defensively, NC State will have to contain Georgia Tech’s talented quarterback, King, who is supported by receivers Malik Rutherford and Eric Singleton Jr. The Wolfpack’s defense, which allowed only 31 rushing yards in their last game, will be tested by Georgia Tech’s rusher Jamal Haynes.
The game, set for November 21st, promises to be a challenging matchup for both teams as they fight for a crucial win in their seasons. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m., and fans can expect an exciting Thursday night showdown.
