Georgia State Panthers to Face North Carolina Central in Historic Matchup
ATLANTA—After a commanding 106-66 victory against Toccoa Falls on Monday, the Georgia State Panthers are set to host North Carolina Central (NCCU) on Friday, November 22, at 7:00 p.m. This game marks the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
The Panthers, under head coach Jonas Hayes, currently lead the Sun Belt Conference in rebounds per game with an impressive average of 44.75, ranking 18th nationally. Senior Nick McMullen has been a standout player, leading the conference in total rebounds and earning recognition nationally for his rebounding prowess. McMullen is complemented by senior Toneari Lane, the team’s leading scorer, averaging 16.5 points per game and consistently delivering strong performances.
Lane’s contributions have been significant, including a season-high 20-point game in the recent victory against Toccoa Falls. Meanwhile, transfer players such as Zarique Nutter and Cesare Edwards have seamlessly integrated into the squad, each contributing to the team’s early-season success with double-doubles in their opening games.
