Panthers Head to UGA for Second Power 5 Matchup


Georgia State Women’s Basketball team is gearing up to take on the University of Georgia on Thursday, November 14th in Athens. This marks their second Power 5 opponent of the season. The Panthers are looking to improve their 10-18 series record against Georgia after a loss in their last matchup.

Georgia State has been showing strength in the Sun Belt conference, ranking second in blocks and leading in total three-pointers. Sophomore Crystal Henderson, a preseason All-Sun Belt First Team member, has been a standout player averaging 12.0 points per game and leading in steals. Mikyla Tolivert, another preseason All-Sun Belt First Team guard, has been a key player for the Panthers as well.

The team boasts a roster of promising newcomers and veteran players, including graduate transfers Eden Johnson and Mahogany Matthews. Matthews leads the team in blocks and rebounds, while Johnson is tied for the team’s leading rebounder.

The Panthers are ready to take on Western Carolina after their game against Georgia, as they continue to showcase their talent and strength in the Sun Belt conference.
