Red Wolves go bowling after defeating Georgia State


Arkansas State football achieved bowl eligibility for the second consecutive season after a 27-20 victory over Georgia State. The Red Wolves dominated on the ground, rushing for 261 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Quarterback Jaylen Raynor had a career-high 114 rushing yards, becoming the first A-State quarterback to achieve over 100 rushing yards since 2017. Ja’Quez Cross and Zak Wallace also contributed to the ground attack, each scoring a touchdown.

Defensively, A-State had seven tackles for loss and forced two interceptions, one of which was made by Trevian Thomas late in the game. The defense held Georgia State to just 73 rushing yards and limited their passing game to 346 yards. Websley Etienne led the team with six tackles while Bryan Whitehead had 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

After a back-and-forth game, A-State secured the win with a 52-yard field goal by Clune Van Andel, breaking a program record for consecutive made field goals. The victory puts the Red Wolves at 6-4 for the season and sets them up for their final two regular-season games at home.

Arkansas State will face ULM in their next game on November 23 at Centennial Bank Stadium. Fans can catch the action live on ESPN+. The team will look to continue their winning streak as they push towards a successful end to the season.
