Brooke Murphy Commits to Miami-FL for Fall 2025
Duluth, GA – Brooke Murphy, a talented swimmer from Duluth, Georgia, has officially announced her commitment to the University of Miami for the fall of 2025, joining the Hurricanes’ swimming team. Currently a senior at John’s Creek High School and a standout swimmer for SwimAtlanta, Murphy expressed her excitement, stating, “The coaches and the team made me feel at home, and it has been my dream school since forever.”
Murphy has already showcased her skills in competitive swimming, concluding her long course season this past summer at the Futures meet in Huntsville, where she finished 29th in the 200 free with a time of 2:08.06, just shy of her personal best of 2:07.79 set in June 2023. Last December, at the Georgia Short Course Senior Championships, she notched impressive best times, including a remarkable 1:50.23 in the 200 free, securing the state title.
Her top short course yard (SCY) times are:
- 100 free: 51.88
- 200 free: 1:50.23
- 100 fly: 55.77
As Murphy prepares to join the Miami team, the Hurricanes will look to improve upon their 11th-place finish at the 2024 ACC Championships, where they scored 391 points. Their competition is strong, needing times of 1:47.31 in the 200 free, 49.77 in the 100 free, and 53.88 in the 100 fly to qualify for finals in the previous season.
Murphy will be part of the class of 2029, alongside fellow recruits Addy Vonderahe and Phoebe Mayo, as they look to contribute to the future success of the Miami swimming program.
