Elberton, GA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has made significant progress in the investigation surrounding a deadly shooting that occurred during a homecoming afterparty in Elbert County on October 12, 2024, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Bryshun Treviyus O’Brien Jordan and injuries to seven others.

As of November 19, 2024, two suspects have been arrested: Demarion Jamal Raiford, 18, from Jackson County, GA, and Zorion Tymal Sims, 19, from Oglethorpe County, GA. Both face multiple charges, including Murder, Aggravated Assault, and violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Raiford was apprehended in Jefferson, while Sims was arrested in Carlton during coordinated operations involving several law enforcement agencies, including the GBI Metro Gang Task Force.

This wave of arrests follows the apprehension of other suspects earlier in November and October. On November 7, Christopher Bell, 19, was charged with similar offenses, having been arrested in DeKalb County. Five others from Anderson, SC, were previously taken into custody for their involvement in the incident, all facing serious charges including Felony Murder.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with relevant information to contact the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office at 706-283-2421 or the GBI’s Athens office at 706-552-2309. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through various channels.

As the community grapples with this tragic event, the GBI assures the public that every effort is being made to bring all responsible parties to justice. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
