A drone strike targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s house in Caesarea, north of Tel Aviv, with no casualties reported as he and his wife were not present. The drone, originating from Lebanon, hit a structure in the area, while two other drones were intercepted. The incident is under review by the Israel Defense Forces. The attack took place shortly after Israel killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in a military operation in Gaza. Sinwar, responsible for terrorist attacks in 2023, had been pursued by the IDF for a year. Netanyahu called Sinwar’s death the “beginning of the end” for Hamas, but also stated that the war was not over yet. Following Sinwar’s death, Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group and Hamas ally, threatened to escalate fighting against Israel. The situation is ongoing and subject to updates.
