Elon Musk advocates for in-person voting, despite his super PAC promoting mail-in ballots

Tech billionaire Elon Musk stated during a town hall event in Pennsylvania that he believes all voting should be done in person with paper ballots and ID, citing concerns about potential voter fraud. This contradicts his own history of voting by mail in the 2016 and 2018 general elections. Musk’s pro-Trump super PAC, America PAC, has been promoting mail-in and absentee ballots, despite Musk’s opposition to them.

During the event, Musk also supported a debunked conspiracy theory about Dominion Voting Systems and suggested that people post potential evidence of voter fraud on his social media app X for others to either support or debunk. Musk also discussed various false conspiracy theories, including unfounded claims about Democrats bringing immigrants into swing states to cast ballots.

Musk’s comments and actions have been met with criticism and confusion, as he continues to advocate for in-person voting while his super PAC actively promotes mail-in and absentee ballots. Musk also made a joke about the lack of charges in connection with pipe bombs left near the U.S. Capitol before the January 6th attack, which was met with laughter from some audience members.
