Week 6 of the NFL season saw struggling teams like the Cincinnati Bengals fighting for a chance at the playoffs. With a 1-4 record, the Bengals faced the New York Giants on Sunday night and managed to secure a 17-7 win. Surprisingly, it was their defense that shined, breaking a streak of allowing 10 or more points in 75 consecutive games and holding the Giants to just one scoring drive. Bengals QB Joe Burrow faced pressure from the Giants defense, getting sacked four times, but he came through with a key throw in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
The Bengals’ victory gives them a slim chance at a postseason berth, while the Giants, now 0-3 at home this season, will host the Philadelphia Eagles in their next game. The Bengals will face the Cleveland Browns on the road. Desperation is beginning to set in for struggling teams in the NFL as they fight to turn their season around and make a run for the playoffs.
