One person has been killed in Moscow after a downed Ukrainian drone hit an apartment block, causing a fire. The debris damaged two high-rise buildings in the Ramenskoye district. Emergency teams were sent to various locations in the region, leading to flight suspensions at the Zhukovo and Domodedovo airports. Russian air defenses shot down over 70 Ukrainian drones, with 15 intercepted in Moscow.
The Ramenskoye district, located 50 km southeast of the Kremlin, has a population of 250,000. Videos showed flames engulfing a residential building, destroying five flats. In Bryansk, near the Ukraine border, Governor Aleksander Bogomaz reported intercepting and destroying 59 enemy drones. Two more drones were intercepted in the Tula region.
Since Russia’s invasion, Ukraine has developed its drone industry to target Russian infrastructure. There were no comments from Ukraine on the recent attack, which coincided with air raid warnings in Kyiv due to another drone assault. The incident highlights the continued conflict between the two countries.
