Harvey Weinstein underwent heart surgery and was moved from a New York City jail to Bellevue Hospital due to health issues. He remains in recovery in the intensive care unit and is not in critical condition. Weinstein had pericardiocentesis surgery to remove fluid from his lungs and heart. In July, he was hospitalized for Covid-19, double pneumonia, diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, and other conditions. Weinstein was previously convicted of sex offenses in New York and Los Angeles, but his New York conviction was overturned. A grand jury in New York is considering new charges against him. Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sexual encounters. Over 80 women have accused him of sexual assault or harassment.
