President Trump is considering endorsing an expanded $5,000 child tax credit for parents of all income levels, according to an official at his campaign. This news comes in light of Vice President Harris announcing her own plan for a $6,000 child tax credit. Trump respects and listens to his running mate, Senator Vance, who also proposed a $5,000 child tax credit during a recent interview.
In response to Harris’s economic platform, Trump’s campaign announced that Vance will deliver remarks on the economy in Philadelphia next Monday. The GOP is gearing up to counteract Harris’s proposals, with Republican Congressman Mike Collins accusing her of trying to “buy votes” through her economic plans.
Additionally, JD Vance, who was aboard a charter plane that made an emergency landing in Milwaukee due to a door malfunction, held a campaign event at a police union office in the city earlier in the day. The plane landed safely in Milwaukee and then continued its flight without any issues.
Harris, in her speech, vowed to expand the child tax credit to fight child poverty and criticized Trump’s tax proposal. She also announced a plan to end America’s housing shortage by building 3 million affordable homes and rentals for the middle class. Biden’s previously proposed plans to increase affordable housing supply did not come to fruition due to lack of support in Congress.
