Ida Lorenzo, a Utah woman who gained viral attention for allegedly pulling down a young woman’s skirt in public, has entered into a plea deal on a misdemeanor sexual battery charge. The incident occurred on April 20 at a St. George eatery, where Lorenzo confronted the young woman for wearing a short and revealing skirt. A video of the altercation was posted online, showing Lorenzo threatening to call Child Protective Services. The young woman defended herself, stating she was over 18. Lorenzo ended up calling the police after seeing the video on social media, claiming it led to threats on her life.
The victim came forward and reported feeling violated by Lorenzo’s actions, stating she was wearing underwear and shorts under her skirt. Lorenzo was initially charged with sexual battery, but the charge was lowered to a misdemeanor as part of a plea deal in August. Under the agreement, Lorenzo must comply with certain terms, including not committing any crimes and undergoing a mental health evaluation.
Lorenzo was also terminated from her job as a legal secretary at the Utah Attorney General’s Office due to performance-related issues. She has declined to comment on the plea agreement. The incident sparked outrage online, with many labeling Lorenzo as a “Karen” for her behavior. The victim and several witnesses provided statements to law enforcement detailing the encounter.
