The Russian army has intensified pressure on the Ukrainian transport hub of Pokrovsk, with no casualties reported so far. Over the weekend, Russian officials claimed that Ukrainian forces targeted multiple Russian regions with a massive drone barrage. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 75 drones in regions bordering Ukraine, including Belgorod, Krasnodar, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Voronezh, and the Ryazan region. Ukraine’s General Staff retaliated by striking an airfield in Morozovsk and hitting ammunition and fuel depots in various Russian regions.
Belgorod Gov. Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed that an oil depot in his region was hit and one tank exploded and caught fire. In the Oryol region, two drones crashed into a residential building, causing a brief fire. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 24 drones over nine regions, but it is unclear if the missiles that were launched were intercepted. Additionally, Russian forces attacked Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad with 11 missiles, causing damage to multiple buildings but no casualties were reported.
The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to escalate, with both sides engaging in drone attacks and missile launches. The situation in the key Ukrainian transport hub of Pokrovsk remains tense as Russian forces intensify their pressure. The international community watches closely as the conflict shows no signs of easing, and both sides continue to suffer the consequences of the ongoing violence.
