The Israeli army carried out strikes on several Houthi targets in western Yemen in response to a fatal drone attack by the rebel group in Tel Aviv the previous day. The strikes, which targeted military facilities in the Al Hudaydah Port area, are believed to be the first on Yemeni soil since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began in October. Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam condemned the Israeli aggression, saying it aimed to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people and pressure Yemen to stop supporting Gaza. Despite the attacks, Yemen’s armed forces remain determined to support Gaza, according to Mohamed Ali al-Houthi of the Supreme Political Council. Al-Masirah TV, a media outlet controlled by the Houthi rebels, reported deaths, injuries, and widespread power cuts as a result of the strikes on storage facilities for oil and diesel at the port and the local electricity company. The situation is still developing, and updates are expected.
