Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education honors Statesboro teacher


Josh Hall, a construction career pathway teacher and SkillsUSA advisor at Statesboro High School, was recently honored with the Carl Perkins Community Service Award by the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education. The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on their community through career and technical education. Hall, who has been an educator for over 14 years, was nominated by his peers and was one of seven recipients selected for this honor in Georgia.

During the association’s summer conference, which drew over 1,700 Career Technical and Agricultural educators from across the state, Hall was recognized for his leadership in programs that promote student involvement in community service. He has also achieved national industry certification for Statesboro High’s Architecture and Construction program, overseen by the Georgia Department of Education and Construction Ready.

Under Hall’s guidance, several of Statesboro High School’s SkillsUSA construction teams have achieved notable success in regional, state, and national competitions. With degrees in education and kinesiology from Georgia Southern University, as well as a specialist degree in education from Valdosta State University, Hall is dedicated to preparing students for careers in the skilled trades.

The Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education, founded in 1926, is committed to advancing education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers. Hall’s recognition highlights his commitment to excellence in career and technical education and the positive impact he has had on his students and community.
